This annual event is a collaborative effort between Affirmations, Al Gamea, Black Pride Society, the Forum Foundation, Michigan AIDS Coalition, Ruth Ellis Center and Triangle Foundation.

The highest award given at each year’s Pride Banquet & Awards Ceremony and given to an individual who has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to help gain a better life for LGBT people and who has demonstrated effectiveness at reaching the goal for equality, fairness and justice for the LGBT community.

Michigan AIDS Coalition Award

Given annually to an individual or business who has provided outstanding service in HIV/AIDS prevention and education through Michigan AIDS Coalition.

Between the Lines

Media Award

Given to an individual or organization within the media world of television, radio and print media to put forward the truth and provide accurate and informative stories about and for the LGBT community.

Queer Choice Award Finalists

Given to three lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or allied individuals who are extraordinary, exceptional and inspiring.  The top three Queer Choice Awards finalists (based on number of votes) will be announced at the Pride Banquet.

Given to an individual who is a newcomer to the community and who has demonstrated outstanding potential to become a leader and advance the cause of the LGBT community.

Given annually to an individual who has gone far beyond the call of duty in volunteering their time and resources to our organizations and efforts that benefit the LGBT community.
