LEAD Institute


The Affirmations LEAD Institute is a first of its kind, transformational leadership program designed to provide LGBTQ+ professionals with education, training, networking, and mentoring opportunities. This program enhances Fellows' personal and professional leadership development, builds their interpersonal networks, and positions them for more advanced leadership roles within for-profit, public sector and nonprofit organizations in the Metro Detroit area. Authentic Leadership: Who am I? - Friday, March 31st

Career Management - What is my legacy? - Saturday, April 1st

Support Networks - Who can help me? - Friday, May 5th

Mindfulness - How can I help myself? - Saturday, May 6th

Community - How can I pay it forward? - Friday, June 2nd



  • 5-10 years of work experience in the private, public, or nonprofit sector
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or management position
  • Demonstrated commitment to civic engagement or community service
  • Commitment to participate fully for the duration of the course
