Affirmations partners with Oakland County Health Division, AIDS Partnership Michigan and Michigan AIDS Coalition to offer free HIV and STD testing. Michigan AIDS Coalition
Free HIV testing available for men who have sex w/men every Monday and Wednesday from 6pm-9pm. Youth only HIV testing provided on the second and fourth Fridays of each month from 7:30pm-9:00pm. Last test given at 8:30pm.
Syphilis and Hepatitis C testing is also available by appointment at MAC - call Royale at Michigan AIDS Coalition at 247-545-1435 ext. 111.
Oakland County Health Division
This month OCHD will provide testing on December 6th from 5-7:30pm for World AIDS Day. Free STD and HIV testing on the second Tuesday of each month from 5-7:30pm. Last test given at 7:30pm. All testing performed by Registered Nurses.
Tests offered: HIV rapid testing, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and Trichomonaiasis (Trich.) Throat and anal cultures as needed on a case by case basis. Everyone welcomed.
STD treatment provided by Oakland County Health Division nurses as needed. For questions, call 248-858-5476.
Partnership Michigan (APM)
HIV testing Thursdays from 5:30pm-8:30pm and Saturdays from 1pm-3pm.
Extended HIV testing available on the second and fourth Saturday of every month from 3-5pm. Last test given 30 minutes prior to the end of the testing period. Everyone welcomed.
APM also offers Testing Together. This provides and
opportunity for male couples/sexual partners to get tested for HIV together and
receive their results together in a safe, neutral environment in a way that
affirms their relationship and allows for open discussion about safer sex.
Trained counselors help the couple through discussions about not only
their HIV test results but assist the couple in developing skills for
addressing issues around HIV and having continued dialogue about sex within the
context of their relationship.
Couples/sexual partners will be screened separately to
determine their eligibility for the service and [if eligible] will then be
given a short survey about their relationship. They will then meet with a
counselor, discuss risk factors and get tested together.
