Starscape - 30/40 acrylic on gallery wrap canvas - $400

The Pittmann-Puckett Art Gallery was named in memory of two of Affirmations' founding members and strongest supporters, Susan Pittmann and Christine Puckett. The couple was killed in their home by a neighbor in 1992. For more information about their story, visit the Pittmann-Puckett Documentary website.

The gallery is an exhibition and performance space intended for the presentation of work by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender artists. Available to established and emerging artists, especially those whose work speaks to or about the LGBT community, the Pittmann-Puckett Art Gallery is a space for artists to exhibit and sell their work, for presenting benefit exhibits, lectures, workshops, meditation sessions, and as a comfortable meeting place.

November & December Features Sanda Cook

Opening Reception: November 13, 6pm-8pm

Sanda's Romanian heritage greatly influences her work today. The natural beauty of the landscape and architecture of her birthplace was her original inspiration as a young artist. Sanda studied under some of the best instructors in Romania and graduated from the Brasor School of Arts. The influence of her European sensibility, travels to Japan and her fresh experience of the United States have created a unique perspective for the work she creates. Sanda's abstracts and impressionstic landscapes have been described as 'bold and fearless, with explosive color and energy.' Her art and photography appear in private collections across Europe, Japan and the U.S.

According to Sanda, "My art and my life cannot be separated...a spirit together, forever..."
