The mission of Affirmations is to provide a welcoming space where people of all sexual orientations, gender identities & expressions, and cultures can find support and unconditional acceptance, and where they can learn, grow, socialize and have fun.

We know that by providing quality training for people in nonprofit fields, we can positively impact the LGBT people who may walk through your office door someday. We hope that you will apply your training and education here to your future work.

Internship hours can be served during our regular hours of operation: Monday – Saturday, 9am – 9pm

• Advocacy/political organizing
• Counseling (individual & group, adult and adolescent/teen)
• Fundraising Graphic design
• Helpline Intake/Referral
• Nonprofit Management & Administration
• Program creation & development
• Research & Evaluation 
• Volunteer coordination
• Writing/editing

Supervision levels:

We accept both bachelors and masters level students. For counseling students, we have site supervisors on staff with a MSW and LMSW. We currently do not have LLCs on staff.
